Sheryl Crow has released a duet with the late Johnny Cash. “Redemption Day” was a song she wrote following a trip to Bosnia with then-First Lady Hillary Clinton. Her solo version originally appeared on her Grammy-winning, self-titled, 1996 triple Platinum album. In a press release Sheryl said: “This song has had a lot of different lives “It’s led me to some strange and interesting opportunities.”

In 2003, before recording it himself, the Man in Black, wanted to talk to her. Shery said, “He asked a lot of questions about different lines and what I meant. He didn’t want to put his voice to the song without being able to believe it heart and soul.” He told her that he felt it was the cornerstone of his next album, which wasn’t released until several years after his death.

The duet of the song and video was released on Friday, (April 19) and will be included on Sheryl Crow’s next album which is slated for release in late summer.
